A joint project of preservation expert
Pamela Jerome
(Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation,
Columbia University) and
Caterina Borelli (independent filmmaker and senior producer
for RAI-TV 1), this projects documents the traditional
methods of construction and preservation of mudbrick
masonry used in Yemen's vernacular architecture. The
project was supported by AIYS through USIA NMERTA
fellowship funds.
The video documentary "The Architecture of Mud" is
available in Arabic (PAL format) or English
(either PAL or NTSC format)
