University of Utah, Marriott Library

Marriott Library is an ARL library with holdings of nearly 3 million volumes, including 25,444 journals in electronic and print formats, and a considerable number of other networked electronic resources. The University, with a student population of over 27,000 is situated on a 1500 acre campus in Salt Lake City.

Marriott Library staff have generously offered their technical expertise and resources to help set up and maintain the DLIR Online Catalog, which is currently housed at the Marriott Library.

Center for Research Libraries

The Center for Research Libraries (CRL), physically located in Chicago, Illinois, is a consortium of over 200 North American universities, colleges, and independent research libraries. The consortium acquires and preserves newspapers, journals, documents, archives, and other traditional and digital resources for research and teaching and makes them available to member institutions through interlibrary loan and electronic delivery.

CRL's mission is to support advanced research and teaching in the humanities, sciences, and social sciences by ensuring the survival and availability of the knowledge resources vital to those activities. CRL accomplishes this mission through cooperative action with its member libraries and partners. CRL hosts the DLIR Program Coordinator and provides technical infrastructure for various DLIR projects. In addition, CRL provides administrative advice and support based on its experience with international projects.

Columbia University Libraries -- Area Studies Division

The Area Studies Division of Columbia University Libraries is part of Columbia University's well known research library system, which is famous for the strength of its global resources collections. Columbia is an ARL research library whose collections consist of 8 million volumes, more than 5.2 million microform units, and 28 million manuscript items, plus nearly 60,000 serials currently received. The Area Studies Division has provided assistance, advice and substantial expertise to the AODL, including hosting internships and training programs for DLIR staff and AORC center librarians, providing original cataloging of Arabic and Turkish language dissertations, coordinating the creation of DLIR's African Language Materials Archive, and other bibliographicand digital library services.
